Rider Info

S.H.A.R.E, or Special Horses and Riders Excelling, is
a non-profit, volunteer-run organization offering therapeutic riding and
therapeutic horsemanship to those in the Brazos Valley. These low-cost
(suggested donations only) options offer the same benefits as hippotherapy, without the cost associated. As hippotherapy requires an Occupational or Physical Therapist on-site, costs, even with insurance, can run very high. However, Therapeutic Riding can be just as beneficial, and that is what SHARE aims to provide. The
organization was begun in 1996 by Dr. Patricia Lombard, an experienced
horsewoman and former Registered Nurse. The organization is dedicated to
providing lessons and experience to those not only with disabilities, but
first-responders, those with mental health struggles, veterans, active-duty military, and the family
members of any eligible to ride in the program.

For more information about riding, visit our Contact page, and be sure to check out the rider release forms found here.*

*Rider release forms must be completed and sent to info@sharetx.org before a rider can participate.
